My week with the Tesla
It's been a really good week. It didn't start out that way unfortunately. Turns out you can't ride a car without registering it. And it's really hard to register a car that no one has ever heard of. And it's really hard to tell them about it when there are no dealers in the state of Colorado. And without dealers, I couldn't get dealer plates either. And without dealer plates, registration, or something, anything, that tells them what the hell I'm driving, it's sort of hard to get insurance.
So I spent last week-end (ten day ago) staring at my beautiful new baby in the garage. I couldn't take it out for a spin... much... ;)
But thankfully on Thursday we got it all covered.
I never thought the image of temporary plates would be that beautiful.
So I brought it straight into work from the DMV for a looksee by the folks at Me.dium. Turns out it's a pretty popular car. :)
Aren't we supposed to be working?
Brad just happened to be around for a drive-by swooning.
Did I mention that I love my Tesla?
On Thursday evening I took it for a drive with one of my best friends from South Africa. We cruised up the mountains behind Boulder and had a blast. That car is fast. I mean really fast.
Congrats to the team at Tesla. They deserve all the kudos I can muster. It's a beautiful car, that rides beautifully, and uses no gasoline at all. Damn, that is just fine.
Check out Me.dium for the latest on Tesla's on the road.
